Ingredients for apple vinegar

Cider vinegar is the base for this. You could use white wine vinegar if you don’t have any cider vinegar to hand.

But cider vinegar is the obvious choice as it already has that all-important apple flavour in there.

Apple juice (use organic apple juice please)

Spices;  black pepper, coriander seeds, smoked paprika, cloves and a cinnamon stick.

Lots of lovely warming spices there that really pack a punch in the flavour department making this Spiced Apple Vinegar a great addition to your larder.

Put all the spices into a little piece of muslin/cheesecloth and tie with twine to secure.

Heat the vinegar in a small pan along with the apple juice and the spices and simmer for 15 minutes.

Remove from heat and allow the vinegar to cool completely, skim off any froth and decant into sterilised bottles.
