apple and grape smoothie
this super healthy apple and grape smoothie is quick to make, packed with goodness and makes a great start to your day

You think of apple juice and grape juice as both being healthy thirst quenchers. But what about this quick and healthy apple and grape smoothie. Thicker than just a juice it’s packed with goodness and makes a great start to your day.

Breakfast for me usually starts at 6.30am or thereabouts with a nice mug of tea in bed. The sustenance part of breakfast starts later when I get up and actually face the day and the kitchen.

This can then take the form of muesli, porridge, toast or a smoothie. I love these drinks packed with goodness and fruity flavour.

This apple and grape smoothie is such a simple recipe, just a few key ingredients and a quick whizz in the blender and that’s it.

Make sure you are using the best quality of fruit to achieve the best results. A few molding grapes and a bashed up apple will not give you a wondrous breakfast.

I always think that in recipes that call for only a few ingredients then the quality really has to count.

Smoothie making tips

If you don’t have a high speed food processor/blender then put the ice cubes into a plastic bag or wrap in a tea towel and bash them with a rolling pin to break them up a bit. Now put the broken ice cubes into the food processor/blender and make that super healthy smoothie. This tip will save wear and tear on your machine.

You can also freeze slices of banana and use those, thus eliminating the need for ice cubes!

Make it a smoothie bowl

If you want you can make this apple and grape smoothie thicker and serve in a bowl with some nuts, grapes and slices of apple on top as a smoothie bowl. However, sometimes you just want things quick and easy in a glass.

This apple and grape smoothie makes a great start to the day any day of the week.
