Buggs Bunny had the right idea with his addiction to carrots. They are good for you. This super healthy carrot turmeric and ginger smoothie recipe makes a great start to the day. I’m sure a certain cartoon rabbit would agree!

You really can’t do better than to start your day off on the right foot with a healthy smoothie. Not only are smoothies healthy but they keep you full for longer than a rushed coffee and slice of toast. Throw in the healthy benefits of those veggie ingredients and you are on to a winner.

This super healthy carrot turmeric and ginger smoothie ticks all the boxes on the health front. There’s a banana in there too so you really can’t go wrong here.

What could be more spring like than carrots. Think of the gorgeous bright orange colour. Think of Easter bunnies, Bugs Bunny, Peter Rabbit. Oh okay maybe go easy on the rabbit front. But you get my drift, carrot smoothie says spring to me. I need some spring in my step right now!

Only 6 Ingredients;

  • 1 carrot
  • 1 banana
  • 2 ice cubes
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric
  • 1/4 tsp ginger
  • 250ml almond milk

Healthy Smoothie Ingredients

Carrot is an antioxidant, full of Vitamin A, beta carotene, great for all round health and fights free radicals too.

Ginger calms your stomach and boosts the immune system, fights infections and is anti-inflamatory too.

Banana  aids digestion, packed with  potassium, keeps you calm and balanced, lowers blood pressure, full of good healthy carbs to keep you fuller for longer.

Turmeric  is an anti-inflammatory and is antioxidant-rich. It lowers your cholesterol and fights those free radicals too.

Almond Milk is low in fat, a great source of Vitamin E which helps support the immune system and maintains healthy skin and eyes. It is also a good source of vegan protein

How to make this recipe

The method for this carrot and turmeric smoothie is simple. Chuck all ingredients into a high-speed blender and whizz it up! I use a Nutribullet and I have to say it is a star when it comes to making smoothies.

Polish things off with any nuts and dried berries (I love gogi berries) that you have around. There is no need to shave down a carrot for presentation as I have. That really was just going right over the top!

Is this good for you?

Yes, yes yes! This carrot and turmeric smoothie is a great way to start your day. It is packed with nutrients, anti-oxidents and vitamins. If you really feel like you want to add sweetness then add a little honey or maple syrup. Personally I think this carrot smoothie is just perfect as it is.

Delicious. I have a rather barking cough right now and have eaten enough rich food now so we had a lovely veggie soup for lunch and I just made myself this delicious smoothie. Made double and drank the lot!
