spooky martini halloween cocktail

There should always be a cocktail to celebrate every occasion and this is my Halloween cocktail. The spooky martini is bright red and packed with spicy flavour just perfect for Halloween. After all, why should kids have all the fun!

Halloween for grown-ups!

Halloween is all about the kids and ghosts and ghouls and lots of candy. But remember us adults too, we have to organise all the little monsters, buy the sweets and supply the costumes.

Oh and not forgetting coping with the inevitable sugar highs and manic children that result from it.

So why not chill out a bit this Halloween with your own Halloween cocktail, the spooky martini. It will chill you out and cheer you up when the monsters close in and it all gets too much!

Halloween cocktail – The Spooky Martini!

1 part vodka

dash of dry vermouth

1 part cranberry juice

A dash of cinnamon and chilli syrup

Cinnamon and chilli syrup

To make the cinnamon and chilliu syrup all you need to do is put a 50/50 mix of water and sugar in a small pan with a broken cinnamon stick and half a fresh chilli, warm over a low heat to dissolve the sugar and then just simmer gently for 5 minutes.

Remove from heat and let it cool completely before removing the cinnamon stick. You can store this simple syrup in a jar in the fridge for up to a week.

To mix this variation on a martini just mix all ingredients and either shake in a cocktail shaker with ice or simply pour the mixture right over the ice cubes into a suitably spooky glass.

Cheers!
