Lavender and Tea Tree essentail oils are must haves for your home and well being. Both are healing with their antibiotic and antiseptic qualities, but I do know some people who find the smell of tea tree oil to be too antiseptic for healing use. I like to blend it with lavender oil, you get the wonderful benefits of both oils and the fragrance of the lavender oil outweighs the smell of the tea tree.

This healing oil is great for minor scrapes and cuts, scalds and insect bites.

How to make a gentle herbal healing oil;

6 drops lavender essential oil

3 drops tea tree essential oil

60ml/1/4 cup sunflower oil

Pour the sunflower oil into a small dark glass bottle and add the essential oils. Shake well.

To use; Clean the affected area and dab on the oil with a cotton wool pad. You can also put it on to a cotton pad and bandage the area with a light dressing. Change this twice a day and remove at night so the skin can breath.

  1. Souns wonderful.

    I use a couple of drops of each of these in the bath at night after a long day being scratched by thorns and prickled by stinging nettles, it seems to help the healing process….and of course smells divine!
