Wild Garlic Scones

Simple wild garlic scones are quick and easy to make and perfect with cheese or served with butter and a bowl of soup or as part of a sharing platter or cheeseboard.

Ingredients
 

  • 50 g wild garlic leaves finely chopped
  • 50 g unsalted butter chilled and chopped
  • 225 g self-raising flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 150 ml milk

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 180C
  • Mix the butter with flour, salt and baking powder to form a crumb like mix
  • Add the milk and chopped wild garlic and form a dough
  • Roll out about 2cm deep and cut out scones either with a round cutter/glass or cut into triangles, whichever you prefer
  • Brush with a little milk and bake for approximately 15 minutes or until golden

Notes

Your wild garlic scones are always best on the day you make them but will keep in an airtight box for a few days. Just warm in the oven before serving.
They will freeze well for up to 4 months.
