Quick And Easy Turkey Bolognese

Low in fat, super healthy and full of flavour this easy turkey bolognese sauce is the perfect comfort food and so quick to make too.

Ingredients
 

  • 500 g turkey mince ground turkey
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion diced
  • 1 carrot diced
  • 1 stick celery diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/2 lemon zest only
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp fresh sage 1/2 tsp if dried
  • 1 tsp fresh rosemary 1/2 if dried
  • 1 tsp fresh sage 1/2 if dried
  • 400 g tinned tomatoes

Instructions
 

  • Saute the turkey mince in olive oil till browned then remove and set aside
  • Add the celery, onion and carrot to the pan for 5 minutes then add the garlic for 1 minute
  • Return the turkey mince to the pan and add herbs, lemon zest, Worcestershire sauce, tomatoes and seasoning. Cover and simmer for 30 minutes.
  • Check the seasoning and serve

Notes

Serve your turkey bolognese with spaghetti or other pasta. It goes just as well with rice or couscous or as a stuffing for a baked potato.
This will keep in the fridge for up to 4 days and can be frozen for up to 4 months.
