Pork Burgers With Apple And Sage

These pork burgers with apple and sage are rich and juicy and just packed with flavour plus they are quick and easy to make and economical too.

Ingredients
 

  • 1 slice bread 25g breadcrumbs
  • 1 small onion
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1/2 small apple
  • 1/2 tsp fresh sage finely chopped
  • 1/2 lemon zest
  • 500 g pork mince
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Use a food processor to make the slice of bread into crumbs then tip these into a mixing bowl, now use same food processor to whizz up the onion and garlic and add to the bowl
  • Finely chop the sage and add to the bowl and grate the apple and add that too
  • Add the pork mince, lemon zest and seasoning and use your hands to squish everything together then make into 4 burger patties
  • Heat 1 tsp of olive oiol in a griddle pan and cook your pork burgers for about 4 minutes on each side or until browned and golden and cooked through

Notes

You can use dried sage instead of fresh sage, just use 1/2 tsp.
Your pork burgers can be frozen before cooking for up to 4 months, wrap individually and pop them into a freezer-proof bag.
Want to add more flavour? Then add some English mustard powder to your mixture.
