How to make clove oil for toothache

Here is how you can make your own homemade clove oil to help with toothache when you can't get to a dentist right away.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 tsp whole cloves
  • 1/2 cup olive oil

Instructions

  • crush the cloves in 1 tbsp of the olive oil then add the remaining oil
  • pour mixture into a small jar and set aside for a week in a cool dark place
  • strain through muslin and pour the oil into a small sterilised jar/bottle

Notes

This is not for babies!
To use simply dip a cotton bud/Q tip into the clove oil and press on gum at toothache spot.
This homemade clove oil will keep for up to 4 months in a dark glass bottle or in a cupboard out of light.
Emergency clove oil
Simply crush a couple of cloves in a tablespoon of olive oil and dip Q tip/cotton bud into this and use on gum. Please note this is much stronger.
