Homemade Dandelion Liqueur

This deliciously fragrant liqueur has only 4 ingredients and is super easy to make, it's springtime in a glass, cheers!

Ingredients
 

  • 250 g dandelions heads only
  • 1 lemon
  • 350 ml vodka
  • 75 g sugar

Instructions
 

  • Pick all the yellow petals off the dandelion heads discarding the green parts and pack the petals into a jar
  • Peel lemon and squeeze ouot juice, add both to the jar along with the sugar and the vodka
  • Pop a lid on the jar and set aside in a cupboard for 2 weeks to mature
  • Strain the liqueur through 2 layers of muslin or kitchen paper till it is clear and golden and decant into a sterilised bottle

Notes

Wear plastic gloves to remove the petals from the green bases of the flowers as this is a messy task. Have a good movie on TV while you do this as it takes a while!
Your dandelion liqueur will keep for up to a year in a cool cupboard.
Serve this liqueur either ice-cold as shots, with ice or as part of a cocktail too.
