Homemade citrus sugar

Perfect for adding to your bakes for a kick of citrus, use in tea and in your porridge too!

Ingredients
 

  • 1 orange zest grated
  • 1 lemon zest grated
  • 500 g sugar

Instructions
 

  • spread the grated citrus zest on baking parchment over a drying rack and set aside in a warm place for a couple of days to dry out. (Aga, airing cupboard, above radiator, top of fridge)
  • Spoon into a jar with sugar and hsake well to combine thoroughly
  • Leave for a week to let the flavours combine and develop
