Hi, I'm back and have found myself a bit of a local celebrity with my house being featured in 'Your Home' this month. I must say it is a bit of a shock to see your own house and rooms spread out on the pages of a magazine. Okay I knew it was going in, but when you see it in the actual magazine it just doesn't feel as if it really is your house.
Thank goodness they only used the tiny pic of me in the corner of the article. I was suffering from a hellish hair cut/colour at the time and looked more than my fair share of years!
Keen observers will notice just how clean, sparkling, bright and tidy my house is. Of course I maintain these standards every day and it always looks just like this. Aaaah how sweet, see Karon skip around in gingham dress and floral pinny with bluebird on her shoulder and squirrels dancing at her feet………'fraid not guys, it took me weeks to tidy and clean the place up for this venture. You can usually see Karon in her normal scruff attire dodging round the piles of books and magazines, cleaning up ferret poo and being followed by yowling cats wanting fed. Real life never looks quite the same as the glossies does it! You will also note that Idgy's room does not feature, oh no, even the most intrepid and cunning of photographers wouldn't brave that den of mess with any inkling of hope towards getting a semi decent picture. He did insist on seeing the room when he was here for the shoot. 'Oh no, you really don't want to see that room, it's a bit of a mess', this is something of an understatement in anyones books. Idgy's room is a testament to her love of clutter, dinosaurs, fossils, furry toys, train sets, dolls house, model horses and magazines. Floor space just does not exist. 'Good God, don't think we can do anything with that one' was his astonished cry when he braved the Idgy den.So it was nice to come back from Newcastle to a pretty spread in a magazine. you certainly wouldn't recognise the house now. Stock piled everywhere, no curtains and a definite aroma of Christmas in the air. Will tell you all about Newcastle tomorrow.
