The gentle thump of mail on the doormat always makes my heart skip a beat. It takes me right back to my childhood when I would eagerly await my treasured package from the Julip Model Horse Company. My pocket money gone in a postal order and two weeks of eager anticipation would have me practically mugging the posty every morning as I grew ever more impatient to receive my latest dream horse.
I might have grown up a tad since then, but I still love the sound of mail on the mat in the morning.
This mornings mail did bring me something rather lovely in the form of the Summer issue of Scottish Woman magazine. Why was this so exciting you might ask. Well it contained a 2 page article I had written about natural tips for the summer and home fragrance tips for this time of year.
This really was mail to make my heart beat faster. There is something about having your own works in print that just does it for me. The buzz is incredible.
I guess you could say that all the years of crafting and herbing and making and doing have all been the learning curve to my real and passionate love – Writing. Putting down on paper the how to and the explanations and the feelings that you have for a subject are what bring me alive and make me tingle.
I am truly blessed to be able to write for magazines and have people enjoy reading my scribblings and thoughts. I don’t think any of this would have ever come about if I hadn’t stumbled into blogland all those years ago.
Blogging is a great way to hone your skills as an expressionist; be that in art, photography, cooking, writing or just in communication in general.
So here’s to blogging and all that it brings, enjoyment, inspiration and even career opportunities.
Tell me your blogging bliss.
