Sometimes we just need a helping hand. I have to admit here that things just now are not great and l am not actually very well. Won't go into it here, but suffice to say that l am not at the top of my game just now and with these three big fairs looming and all this stock to make, it has made me more and more stressed. On Thursday my doctor told me l had to slow it down a bit and ask for some help to get things done. Now this is where l am pretty useless and sort of stand on one leg and mutter 'hmmmm do you think, you could possibly…….' Not the most inspiring way to get anyone to do anything. Well l came home and told Wendy what he said. 'Bring me a bloody sewing machine and show me how to use it', her exact words. So this morning l shall nip round with a trusty old singer and show her the ropes.
I had been walking Martha (3 legged Jack Russell) and bumped into Colette from up the lane. She immediately said l should come round with hearts that needed stuffing and we would get it done together. Well last night found me at her house along with her hubby Simon and another neighbour Anne, all sitting round the kitchen table with wine and nibbles and 100 Christmas hearts being stuffed and sewn. They would stuff and l did the sewing. I cannot say how much this means to me, I feel l have at least got a decent start at things now, and they have even offered another session next week.
This is what friendship is all about, jumping in and dragging your pal to shore when the water has got too deep and the waves too high.
So a huge THANKS to my lovely friends for jumping in and getting wet.
