These past few days we seem to have had every sort of weather imaginable, from heavy snow to bright sunshine, pouring rain to howling winds. Old mother nature can't seem to make up her mind what to throw at us just now. Yesterday brought some sunny spells that were pure Springtime, just gorgeous. It made you want to get out there and do some gardening.
Actually it made me get from house to HQ via garden and then garden came to mind as l was carrying boxes etc out to HQ. Lets be honest here, l wasn't just sitting in the kitchen and then came over all 'keen gardener, lets rush out and do it', no, no, as l was trudging through the garden armed with the contents of HQ that had been evicted to house over winter, l thought it was maybe time to get some garden thoughts for veggies turning over in my mind.
Its funny, l don't think of my herbs as gardening really. They are just something l do all the time. I always notice them and what is happening with them at any time of year. I do what needs to be done whenever it crops up. But the veggie garden, hmm l have to 'do' that, it doesn't just flow with me.
Anyway l went out there and l dug over one of the raised beds. I then came back into the kitchen and admired my seed collection while sipping a cup f coffee.
Don't these carrots look amazing. I saw Jamie Oliver using them on his Jamie At Home series last year. I love the colours of them. Also bought these colourful beans and some two tone beetroot as well. Here's hoping this all comes to fruition this year.
By the way, have only heard from a few of the Mum winners. Please just zap an email by clicking 'email me' at the top of this page, and let me know where you want the heart sent to.
