Some days are catagorised by colour, a red letter day, a blue day, a mellow yellow day. Yesterday was a totally tartan day!
My friend Julie makes the most gorgeous tartan pillows, door stops etc and her company is in fact called Totally Tartan. Anyway we are always helping eachother out and yesterday we were doing a photo shoot for julie.
The colours were just perfect. Bracken and brambles, rosehips, moss, pine trees and heather, oh so Scottish. We couldn't have found a better location.
Idgy was there as assistant (school holiday yesterday), but spent more time hunting for wildlife and squelching through the woods.
We were doing all this in the middle of nowehere. We were on a single track road going up in the hills far from a village. You'd think it would be quiet, a place where nobody would bother you. Hmmmmm, not so yesterday, there were cars every few minutes, there must have been some sort of divertion somewhere down the line and drivers were being sent out on to our narrow little road.
There we were, piles of cushions, tartan throws, cute tartan doggies, cameras, huge bags, 2 cars….. They must've thought we were either organising a teddy bears picnic and had mislaid the bears, were waiting for some kilted hero to stride over the hill and complete our all out Scottish look for a porridge advert (no such luck), or were trying to shoot our own country lifestyle magazine spread.
Alas no, there we were doing pretty pictures for Julie's web site www.totallytartan.net. I have to say it was a lot of fun. We had hit and miss on the weather front. One minute sun, next it was raining and we were wiping off cushions and drying cameras. Ah the joys of the location photo shoot. You can catch up with Julie at her blog at www.totallytartan.wordpress.com.
I really must catch up on my 'Blog Trotting' and renew links etc. Why not tell me about your blog and zap me a link. Give me a hand on my blog trotting update and we'll all spread the word about eachother.
