Idgy is a huge fan of dragons. What started as a dinosaur obsession when she was a tot and adored all those Disney and other dino movies evolved into dragon worship with age. Now the old stuffed dinosaurs compete for space with arty looking dragons, though the latter are more likely to be cardboard and hanging from her bedroom ceiling.
Anyway the dragon thing spreads into her art and during these Easter holidays she is spending lots of time making these cute little Paper Pal Dragons. This is Sapphire Dragon who has a taste for Pringles. Obviously this is an inherited characteristic that has come down the female line from me to Idgy and now her paper creatures. Just shows the power of the Pringle! Oh, speaking of the dreaded P word, my daughter did a dreadful thing to her old Mum last week. She does the shopping each week with Mr X since I can’t get out. I give her a detailed list and usually everything from said list appears in the kitchen – great stuff. Last weekhowever, something rather exciting happened, two tubes of Pringles appeared in the basket. Whoopee I thought, haven’t had those since I gave up my long standing addiction almost a year ago! I quickly stashed them in the larder just thinking that Idgy was being nice and had bought them as a treat for us.
That evening I thought I would have ‘just a couple’ with a glass of wine. Well I was just heading back to the sofa after my third mission to larder for another couple of Pringles when the girl herself wandered in. “What do you think you are doing?” she bellowed like a bull elephant. I fairly cringed I can tell you. “Get your greasy paws off my Pringles” and with that both tubes disapeared at high speed.
A few days later as I was in the kitchen I looked up and there on top of the dresser (some 8 feet off the ground and totally out of reach for someone in my hopping foot problematic state) was a tupe of Pringles with a great big Post It note attached with the imortal words – P… Off My Pringles!
So you see the damn Dragon getting the Pringles holds a lot of significance in this house. I am jealous of a Paper Pal!
Anyway back to dragons and stuff – Photography is playing a big part in Idgy’s hobbies too. Her dragons get photographed for various teen web sites doing different things.
I love the fact that she is using her love of art and creating and being part of a big group out there. She also writes stories and enters competitions for them online. I can’t express how proud I am of my clever little girl.
So today my friends I share with you some of Idgy’s amazing little Dragon Paper Pals, and when she eventually wakes up from her teenage slumber I might even get her to put up a link to her art page!
Have a great day.
PS I also like cream eggs and the damn dragons have got to those as well………
