I cannot believe this, it is snowing again! We have been enjoying the most beautiful warm sunny and dry weather since the last snow storm almost two weeks ago. Okay there were still a few piles of snow dotted about at the bottom of the garden, but really spring was with us. Daffodils, primroses and dainty snowdrops all flowering at once.
Now look at it. White sky and flakes the size of crumpled paper hankies fluttering to the ground. Freezing cold too. It would seem we are going backwards into winter again.
Thank goodness Idgy and her friends had their day out in Glasgow on Tuesday and weren’t trying to brave the city in this weather. Actually Idgy arrived home yesterday afternoon and has not been seen since. She had enjoyed a girly sleepover at her friend’s house and the gang of them had tried (and failed thankfully) to stay up all night. They had walked round the city the day before and Idgy had also had to walk the two miles from here to the village to get the train. Yesterday she had to repeat this process to get back home again. Worn out, my girl was done in!
Yesterday I was doing a photo shoot for an all out summery magazine article, sunshine and strawberries, lavender and blue skies.
Today is a day for curling up by the fire with a good book.
Actually today is a day for holing up in my tiny study and getting some writing done. The fire and the good book will have to wait till this evening, though it is terribly tempting when I look outside and see the snow falling and that almost white grey sky.
Hope the weather is more spring-like where you are.
