Idgy was beside herself yesterday, her joy was unbound – A Snow Day! The school bus didn’t come and none of the neighbouring folks had any space in their cars, what joy a day off school.
Now looking at the pathetic level of snow in this pic she took yesterday you’d be forgiven for thinking that the school bus driver was wimping out. Come on he got up Walton’s Mountain every day when the snow was a foot deep. Well it turns out this snow was ‘unexpected’ and this makes a big difference. When the weather watching helicopters etc go out in the morning and the snow is ‘unexpected’ there are no tracks as nobody as been about, the roads all look closed so they report this to the local councils who then go into melt down and report to all and sundry that such and such an area is Snowed In.
Yesterday we were officially Snowed In with only 4 inches of snow.
Idgy was out of that school uniform like a rocket and out in the garden enjoying the unexpected freedom and some fun with her camera.
I did make full use of her services making lunch, cups of tea, feeding the fire etc. Could get used to this. Maybe I should teach her to peel grapes and other such useful and life enhancing tasks.
My sofa companion carefully camouflaged in the leopardy blanket. She has the resigned expression of one who is getting used to wearing a laptop on their back rather in the style of a turtle shell. The drawback of wearing said laptop is that it is heavy and the idiot that keeps tapping at it wakes you up from your slumber. The benefit of wearing said laptop is that it heats up underneath and is nice and warm. She doesn’t like it when you call her a cattop.
Life is all about swings and roundabouts, even for a cat.
