Smiley coffee and the Birthday Badger

By Karon Grieve 4 Comments

Coffeesmile

Pete has been practicing with those coffee pictures again. What a lovely way to start a day of rushing around chores – a smiley cup of cappuccino, perfect!

As you know it is Idgy's birthday tomorrow, of yes we are on countdown round these parts. Only one more sleep to go now.

I think I told you last year about The Birthday Badger who bumbles round the countryside giving children prezzies on their own special day. Well since Santa only pops round at Christmas I had to come up with someone who would deliver prezzies on birthdays, hence the Birthday Badger.

We usually have the Badger Box where a mish-mash of goodies are all grouped together in one box. Well this year I am being considerate of the Badger's knackered old body and supplying a Badger Bag instead of the usual box. Very cunning, bag is part of prezzie. Amazing how much loot you can stuff in a girly satchel; book (dragons of course), CD (Lady GaGa), bath stuff, sweets, pair of shorts, T shirt, Hello  Kitty bits and bobs, Littlest Pet Shop characters, beads, a real hodge podge, a mix of little girl toys and bigger girl music – enjoy the little girl, love her, cherish her, hold her close, it is not for long.

So that is the Birthday Badger organised. Cinema and restaurant to be booked this morning. What else, finish off the sweetie jars (I'm doing jam jars filled with lots of different penny candy type sweets straight from old fashioned sweet shop. Just have to decorate the jars with ribbons and hang tags etc) that are the party gifts, oh yes first thing tomorrow morning bake the cup cakes. No boring birthday cake for my gal, no, each person gets a cup cake with a candle on top. Isn't it lucky there are the right number of cakes to people to birthday age to cake stand.

So, almost organised, almost there.

Tomorrow is the big day.

Karon x

The penny candy sounds yummy, wish we still had stores like that here in the states. Few and very far between!
