Yesterday was beautiful weather wise. Too nice to be at home, and with a mission to buy a newspaper we head off towards the village on our bikes.
Idgy is soon miles ahead as I meander about, stop to take photos and generally 'live in the moment' – how mindful.
I resist the temptation to name the berries. Anyone completely lost here will have to read comments on Saturdays post re the mindful raisin.
Instead I eat them.
We cycle on and reach the village. On entering the shop I note that there is a huge display of two newspapers. We have a choice, The Times or The Sun. There is no Scotland on Sunday, which is what we have come for. I am annoyed that I'll now have to go all the way home and then drive to next village. Idgy is annoyed because I am annoyed and that means I won't put hand in pocket to buy any sweeties etc as would normally happen if I were not in annoyed state.
We leave the shop in in discordant style and remount the bikes to head home.
The men are working the fields, it is all a very 'country' scene. However both in our miffed states, we are not really appreciating the scenery etc. The road is longer and uphill. We have no joyous cargo of wanted newspaper or sweets. We mutter at eachother, I moan about petrol costs, she moans about wasting time.
Lots of other people appear to have the bike bug this morning and we are constantly being forced to smile and say "hi". As this is a tad difficult in the moaning/grumpy mode we have both adopted, we find that we ease out of our bad mood with each "Hello" and by the time we get home are are both almost nice people again.
Jump in car and head off to supermarket. Buy newspeper – Scotland on Sunday. There is a little photo and mention of So Easy Herbal in the style section. A review, thrilled!
So that was our Scotland on Sunday. We got home, I read the paper and Idgy rushed off up the lane to see her friends armed with the long awaited sweets.
Sunshine, energy, bad moods, laughter, relaxation, us, together, just being about on a sunday.
