So, so wet and horrible yesterday, but l don't want to inflict a dreary grey wet photo on you so thought these rain drops on spiders web on bush outside showed the wet but at least a wee bit of colour.
The field next door flooded right over the road and then down side of house. There was an 8 inch deep lake right outside the back door, Martha not impressed at having to wade out to the loo, had to be encouraged to do so.After a begging phone call to the council, 2 men in a huge yellow digger came all the way out here and dug out the ditch to divert the water into the field. I was releived and so was Martha!
Today l am a bit sad, Idgy has just left to go to Mallorca for a week with her father. While l am truly thrilled for her to be able to spend her half term holiday week in the sunshine, but l will miss her so much. It was so difficult this morning to be bright and breezy and definately not cry as she leapt into the car and drove away. I so wanted to be the one taking her to the sunshine and fun, but alas time and money do not permit. I am seriously determined to sort out my life/time next year, what l am doing is just not worth the time it is taking from Idgy. We have never been apart for this length of time before. She has been SO excited about this trip, all the planning and packing, it has even superceded the panto in the sceme of things. It will be very strange to have the house to myself for a whole week, while l am used to her trotting off to stay with him at weekends (lets face it he only lives next door unfortunately), a week away seems so different.
I am determined to use the time to its fullest and get all stock sewn and stuffed for the fairs and Christmas this week. With no meal making etc it will be easier just to knuckle under and get things done.
No more stuffing those damn carrots, they are done – finishing them this weekend!
