Festoon your foliage with a flock of fluttering festive feathered friends! Try saying that after a few eggnogs!
This is what I was doing on the McAulay & Co show yesterday at the BBC.
I showed Fred and Anna how to make the festive bird ornaments and my mini bunting. We were filming this show in front of a live (thank God they weren’t dead) studio audience as a Christmas special and it goes out on the radio today at 11.10am on BBC Radio Scotland (or catch it on the BBC I Player system.
This was our second show of the day, as we had already done the live show for Thursday in the normal studio in the morning. That one had been on pet gifts for Christmas and I’m afraid my trusty Meow Mix (Catnip and Valarian mix) really stank out the studio. People will wonder for days if something crept behind a cupboard and died in there.
I had Idgy with me (assistant Elf to my Major Elf) and she helped hang the bunting on the live show set and generally enjoyed being at the heart of things and seeing how it all worked. Must say a big thanks to all the staff for making her so welcome.
The live show was great fun and the audience really got involved. I was doing my Crimbo crafting, the lovely singer Amy McDonald was interviewed and the wonderful actor John Gordon Sinclair (takes me right back to being a teenager and the film ‘Gregory’s Girl’) was in for a chat. There was an amazing choir, a chef doing turkey tips, more guests and a quiz team to finish things off on our 1 1/2 hour show.
All in all a great day out.
So that is me finished work for the week. Now it’s getting Christmas organised at home. Down to the village to collect the turkey from the local butcher this morning and get Idgy out of the house long enough for me to delve into that prezzie stash and get her things wrapped up for her.
Are you all organised?
Is this your last day at the office/shop etc?
Tell me what you are up to on this, allegedly the busiest shopping day of the year.
Have a good one and if you cdon’t come back here before Sunday do have a lovely Christmas.
