There was a Moroccan market in Paisley last week. A blast of colourful pottery and fabulous food sparkling and tempting on a dull and wet afternoon.
I love this type of pottery and have been collecting plates and bowls whenever I am lucky enough to see them in charity shops etc. Coming across this market was sheer joy.
I was like the proverbial kid in a sweet shop . The pocket money just had to be spent. I had to have some plates. Some bowls and even a pot thingy with the lovely cone shaped lid. The pocket money didn’t last long. I was a sucker to the pottery passion.
I even bought some of the cakes. Huge mistake there. They looked great on the stand. They looked lovely on the plates. They were so sweet even the polecat has to refuse them.
At least they made a pretty photo though.
Normally we use plain white plates, I have a weird mix of vintage plates etc as well, but this colourful pottery just makes me smile, it’s happy sunshine crockery, looks like holidays happening in the kitchen on any day of the week.
What are your favourite plates?
