Now this is one of my favourite magazines, 'Selvedge'. It is style in paperback, art and crafts at their very finest, and fab photos on every page.
For all my media tarting over the years and my little portfolio of p.r. successes, I had never managed to crack the lofty heights of Selvedge. Imagine my surprize and sheer joy when the editor Polly emailed me a couple of months ago to ask if they could use some of my photographs. Not only that, they wanted a bit of blurb on how to make a scented sachet. I couldn't beleive my luck.
My lovely shiny magazine arrived in the post this weekend and I can't say how thrilled I am with it. I know I have had lots of product pix in magazines over the years, Photos I have taken that magazines then use when featuring my goodies. But this was the first time I had been asked for images that would be part of a larger article and not just pretty pix of my own stuff.
The article features all my heros of the crafting world, Sam McKechnie from The Magpie and The Wardrobe, Apolline a Paris, Christina Strutt of Cabbages and Roses, Angel Hughes from Tobias and the Angel, Ros Badger and Danish designer Dorthe Mailil, to name but a few.
I have been bouncing about like tigger on exstacy, so, so pleased.
