Gratitude and appreciation are something we should take to heart and use every day, rather like a pen or a wooden spoon. They should be used often and not be something we dig out now and then when someone hands us a bunch of flowers or holds open a door.
This view makes me feel gratitude. This is a resevoir just ten minutes from my home. It is beautiful. It is serene and to me looks just perfect, like something from a postcard of a place you’d love to visit.
It’s here, right here.
Suddenly realising that just swamps me with gratitude. I live here. It’s not just a postcard, I can (and do) walk right into it.
I am blessed.
Sometimes it’s just too damn easy to get swamped by the niggles of life and feel like everything is getting you down. The car doesn’t pass its MOT, the bills are bigger than expected, you can’t do what you want Right Now. The list goes on, and on, and on and on and on – if you let it.
I look at these photos and it pulls me up. It stops that internal chatter of moans.
Wow, look at that, I live here.
