You knew from the title, who even needs the photo, yes darling reader I have had yet another foot operation.
This was all a real last minute job, got the call on Monday afternoon and was in there at 7.30am yesterday. More fasting and hanging about till op at 2pm. To say the surgeon had an attitude when he came in to mark up my foot in the morning is something of an understatement, he was rude, curt and strutted out in the way only men of limited stature can muster. I kid you not, there was another lady in the room with me and she was stunned. She turned to me when he huffed out and just said “What the heck was that about?”. I hazarded a guess that he thinks sticking up and curled over toes are totally acceptable and doesn’t like having his operational expertise questioned in any way.
Needless to say this didn’t instill a lot of confidence and it was a l o n g day till 2pm. So here I am with enormous bandage this time and foot looks about the size of a football. Don’t even ask about sore, we have been there and done that and got more than one T Shirt in that area. Suffice to say I am keeping Glaxo in business single handed.
So it is flat out on the sofa again with only loo breaks for week one again and then just sofa entrapment for another 5 weeks.
Not thrilled, bit down in the dumps, but it has to be done and I want all this out of the way and not have to be starting all over again in a few months time. Better just get it all over with in one go.
The fact that I have an entire book to photograph in April is a fun prospect! My stalwart companion/helper/chief cook and bottle washer – Idgy has suggested that she drags over all the photography stuff and props from HQ and reorganises the redundant dining room into a make-shift studio. This would be the best idea as I’d be able to prepare the food in the kitchen and have everything for shooting just a few yards away. Don’t think I’d be able to manage over to HQ balancing trays on crutches, there are limits to my powers after all!
Sorry for yet another footy post. I was so determined to really zap up the blog this year and shake things up. Hmmmmm will have to see what I can do from my command control of the sofa.
Enjoy your day, tell me what you are up to, I’d love to hear tales of life away from sofadom.
