No pretty photograph today, l don't feel up to it.
Today was the first day back at school and Idgy trotted off very happily. For the past 5 years we have waited at the gate together every morning for the bus to arrive. Very rarely do l miss this special little parcel of time. Well this morning l felt my little parcel was taken away when the Ex decided that this was to be his day. He who goes to work long before the bus had decided to make a stand. Can l pretend l was not hurt, well no, after a fair bit of kitchen table sobbing l launched into a frenzied attack on the housework and scrubbed those floors like there was no tomorrow. After which l hit the local recycling depot with loads of stuff (my past in black bags) and then came home and endevoured to calm down with a gentle cup of tea. It is unfortunate that it is at this point l spotted the advent callender l had been working on a few weeks ago. The prototype of this adorted mission was hanging innocently from the window lock – now l am not someone who would make an advent callender and not put chocolate in it, am l. Oh no, there were 24 mini bars in there. It is definately a case of 'were' as in my stressed state l scoffed the lot. Oh dear all those months of fitness and dieting and l end it all on a binge of mini mars and milky way. I have successfully managed to add insult to this mornings injury.
Idgy came home full of the joys of new term chat and what a lovely teacher she now had. . She admired (ok she was pretty stunned by) the gleaming kitchen and lack of mess, commenting that 'Gosh you've been busy'. It is very lucky that her eagle eyes did not spot the rather slim looking advent callender hanging somewhat limply from the window latch in HQ. It was a tad chilly this afternoon, so all the offending wrappers had already been devoured by the fire.
Guess who will be off to bed with no supper tonight – don't think l could face it anyway………
