I’m very excited just now, no, lets rephrase that – I’m whoopteedooo over excited just now and it’s all because of a tea party, or should I say, a Cookie Shine.
The Cookie Shine (old Scot’s term for a tea party) in question was mine and I wrote about it for the fabulous MINGLE magazine in USA. Mingle is one of a range of beautiful magazines produced by Stampington which include Artful Blogging, Where Women Create, Somerset Life, Where Women Cook etc. If you want a magazine to fall in to, be inspired by, dream with and just drool over the photos then head to that site and have a look at their virtual news stand, you will be hooked.
I’ve been a Stampington fan for years and have a stash of their mags that are like old friends to me. It has been a dream of mine to get in there and be part of these publications in some small way, any way.
The dream came true this Spring when I contacted the editor and told her about my new Simply Scottish Cakes & Bakes book and about having friends round for a Cookie Shine. Emails and photos fairly flew back and forth across the Atlantic and now a few months on I’m in Mingle, me and my Cookie Shine.
A wee dream come true.
I’m so thrilled by the whole layout and can’t quite believe they are my photos.
Thanks so much to Christen Olivarez the editor of Mingle and to the whole Stampington team for producing such wonderful escapism and inspiration in their publications.

That all looks wonderful – well done.

Great job! I am gonna look for this magazine today. How exciting for you.
Well done Karon, the article looks fabulous, can we buy the magazine here in the UK?
Don’t think you can get it in UK but they are great on the stampington site and send mags out really quickly to us in UK and also don’t charge too much postage either, you get a good deal on 3 mags postage. Hope this helps.
All best

Looks beautiful!
Fabulous!!! How exciting! I’m headed out this morning and am going to go straight to Barnes and Noble and see if I can find the magazine – if not, I’m sure I can get it on line!!! Whoop-deee-doo!!! This is so cool!
Congratulations! Photos look absolutely brilliant. Love the cake stand and roaring fire – and all the fab food, of course! I’ve never heard the term Cookie Shine, but think I’ll adopt it down here in Winchester – any excuse for a tea party! Just heard the weather and there’s snow in Scotland – do you have the white stuff today?
We saw snow on the hills yesterday and temp is at zero. Brrrrr…..
Enjoy your cookie shine.
