LAST OF SUMMER

By Karon Grieve 2 Comments

Feverfew2

Beleive it or not this photo of feverfew was taken yesterday. Isn't it just so summery, bright little daisies thrusting their pretty faces towards the sun. So very un-Octoberish. Actually the feverfew has self seeded this year and popped up all over the place. I love it so don't mind in the least. However l am getting slightly bored with the over-run on the mints dept. Those guys are definately being contained more for next year. I had been working on the premise that you 'can't have enough mint' oh yes you can, even when you use loads of the stuff. Actually having said that, l do use all of it, but l really must move it to one bed next year so other goodies get a chance at the sunlight.

And this is another image from yesterday. It really does seem like a summers day has been transported onto dreary old October.

So far it is still dark outside so don't know what we are going to get weather-wise today. Does it matter, no, l have all those damn carrots to stuff…………………

Morning Karon. Well, the fair may not have been huge business wise but at least it’s another one down and you are up ont he deal hopefully for the big fairs coming up soon – positive thinking???
I love feverfew and am always glad to see it self seeding as you can always pull up what you don’t want can’t you. Our mint is finally contained in a glorious rambling mass in a bed of its own surrounded by stone/ It’s ggreat as it’s outside the back door to the garden, handy for a quick cuppa and because we get about one frost a year here it last all winter – so why do I still have bunches drying everywhere! Good luck with the crrots xx

    Hi Karon
Love the pictures. I used to have feverfew in a herb garden behind my house, the herbs moved about 100m away several years ago, but I still find that I get little patches of feverfew popping up around their original home.
    Happy carrot stuffing!
