That exciting thump of the post hitting the doormat, what will it bring today?
The latest issue of Handmade Living with my article featured on the cover! So exciting, can’t tell you how tingly this made me feel. As you all know, writing and the whole show and tell thing is totally my bag, I write all the time, even in my head when not on paper/screen. Getting a cover story just adds the icing to the cake as far as I’m concerned.
If you haven’t discovered Handmade Living yet, then head off to the magazine store and take a look. Everything is beautifully presented and the magazine covers everything from crafting to sewing, gardening to cooking and all things in between. It’s a great read.
Handmade Living really presents its writers really well. The whole layout is spot on and I love the way they added splats of jam to the pages. Photos are mine, you’ll all recognise my kitchen of course.
Hmmmmm it’s even inspired me to make more jelly! What? No, don’t even think that, don’t go there Karon. You should see my larder, there are jars and jars of the stuff, oh and rather too many as yet unlabelled due to a certain person always thinking – ho hum do that tomorrow……..
Actually I love the whole process of making jelly in particular. I find it both relaxing and invigorating, and a real pleasure. The fact that you have to wait for it to slowly drip through overnight. It is slow and easy, natural, taking it’s own time. Then the frenzy of boiling it up, the will it, won’t it reach that magic setting point. Then the gorgeous gorgeous jewel like colour as you pour it into the jars.
Tastes fab too!
What is your favourite jam or jelly? I’m always looking for inspiration and new ideas.
