So what is inspiring me this year? Well yesterday l said l was trying to lose a bit of my 'all over the place' colour palate, l have toned it down to one flash 0f colour plus basic balck and white (well neutral off white really). This string is the perfect red. It is rustic but soft, not a loud or harsh red, yet it is still red.
Music. Old music sheets. They set my imagination into song – does that sound mad, maybe it is. Anyway l love old music, even tho it takes me back to my dreaded piano lessons when l was 9. In fact l found a pile of old music books from that time complete with all the piano teachers notes about how dreadful l was. 'Must practice more' seems to have appeared on almost every page.
Vintage fabric (of course, l could never leave that love) using this wonderful old rose print fabric from late 1800s. I carefully cut out every image and will be using them in my projects in a few different ways. I adore the soft colours of these roses. Okay l am letting in another colour here (green) but what the hell!
Old books, French and English. As you all know l am a major bookworm and have gathered quite a few over the years. I love the look, feel and smell of old books, they have so much character. French, well l just love the language ~(and the country).
Crystals, pearls, vintage jewellery and herbs (goes without saying that one). Collage and sewing. Bringing it all together in a workably romantic sort of style. A bit French, a bit country, seriously fragrant (as ever) and more of a group look.
The linen heart with crystal and the gift tag at front and two of my new items. I am keeping it simple in many ways. I am trying to resist my urges to do more and more and add and add. I would like to have a small group of products that really gel together.
Well that's the aim. What do you think so far?
