On sunday the weather here was glorious. It was hot (yes in scotland) and sunny and just perfect. Oh it was just like being back in france.
Having recovered from the weekend socializing I spent the day in the garden. Tempting to just lie in the sun, but no, actually did some sewing etc. These are hearts made from a fabulous piece of French fabric dating back to the 19th century, and are the lovliest colours of soft rose, old gold and ivory. I couldn't resist finishing them off with a simple faux pearl and satin ribbon loop. I only had enough fabric for 19, so will be selling them in four sets of 4 hearts. I get to keep the extra 3!
There was also a photo session of all my bits and pieces brought back from the brocante in France. Vintage fabrics, Christmas santons, old books and maps, trays, napkins, and even a beret! all these goodies will be appearing on the new web site when it is launches very, very soon.
It is all kind of exciting really. The book will be out and the new site will all pull it together, the blog, book, crafting and my vintage finds. Right now life is rather swan like, looks unruffled and unmoving on the top, but splashing away and lots of action behind the scenes. Big thanks to Colin (adifferent one!) for making it all happen.
So sunday was a busy day in the sunshine getting lots done. It felt good to sew again. haven't done that in ages. fired with enthusiasm I have even designed the Christmas ornament that I will make and sell this year. No huge list of endless designs, just one or two pieces, something special.
Very soon you'll be invited to click a link and come and join me on the new blogsite. It is going to be great, hope you'll all come too.
