Big keys and old gates; what lies beyond?
Well this does, of course. A great big beautiful old 17th century chateau. Our home for a few weeks.
Totally off the wall really, stepping out of my little cottage in Ayrshire one day, and into this the next. This is the most amazing and beautiful place. So calm, so peaceful, just perfect.
When I first arrived I had thoughts of ghosts and bumps in the night. Instead this magnificent lady of a house calmly opened welcoming arms and settled me in. Comforting from the outset, she has made us feel at home.
At night she sighs, and floorboards creak and groan a little as the heat of the day cools her walls and she settles down to sleep.
Our rooms are in this tower, high up amid the canopy of trees. From my Rapunzel (note to self; must grow hair) room I can see the glorious outline of the Pyranees mountains many miles away. They say if you see the mountains clearly it will rain, luckily the mountains are pretty faint, so the sun is still shining for us.
With shutters open at night you feel the room is almost filled with stars, reach up, count them, touch them, and gather them for dreams and wishes.
Wishes on stars;
(all round general stuff here, plus little tiny house in France)
(yep, usual stuff)
(come on, got to frind Mr Right sometime, keep looking)
(books, crafts, magazines, brocante, teaching – list is endless)
(help put something back in small ways, smiles, help, inspiration, laughter – every little helps)
What are your wishes on stars?
