Brrrrrrrrr, we are back in the freezer again, and we have wind as well. No, no, not the personal kind, the blizzard with snow variety! It is blo n'gale as they say up here.
Holed up in the kitchen again. Actually I have even moved the sewing machine into the kitchen as it is warmer than using it in the diningroom. Don't even ask about HQ, I've frozen out of there since before Christmas.
Thank goodness my meeting with Jim at the Caurnie Soaperie was yesterday. Big excitement, I'm adding his wonderful all-natural cold process soap to my new range of goodies. Yesterday was a meeting day to discuss shapes and sizes, didn't know soap could be so complex.
So today I am holed up in the kitchen sorting out my soap packaging, now resizing the paper and measuring ribbons. The sewing machine sits on the table (we are eating by the fire in the livingroom in this weather) and is ready for another batch of cushion covers. Suddenly it is all coming together. I'm so impatient to have the new goodies out there and available but it has to be right.
As ever working from the kitchen brings its own temptations – food. At least in HQ I have to make the effort to come back to the house to make coffee etc, there is movement involved. Here I am too close to it all, I am under threat of 'sewing bum'. Add to that no running due to the frozen weather. Get the picture, I know, I know, not a pretty sight.
Hibernation, I can see the attraction. Okay so you would miss Christmas etc, but think of the money you'd save. Yes hibernation is looking better by the minute. Doze off in October and wake up in April all bright and lively and slim and gorgeous and, and, and,………….
I think I am suffering from snow madness!

I like your thinking Karon. Sounds wonderful to me. Sleep off those 20-25 lbs I need to lose.
Your house and grounds look to lovely in that picture of a winter scene.
it all sounds so exciting Karon – Jim’s soaps are lovely. Can’t wait to see all your new goodies.
The snow looks lovely in pictures. We are supposed to get anywhere from a foot to a foot and a half of snow by tomorrow. We get what they call “lake effect snow”. I live right by Lake Michigan and when the cold winds blow down the warm lake, we get slammed! Now where did I put my shovel and when is Spring going to get here? Take care.

Ha! I laughed out loud with the “sewing bum” comment!!! Hysterical – and sadly – so true!! I’m afraid I’ve got a bit of it myself these days and not a good excuse like horrid weather either! I’ve just been lazy…I have a friend who is doing some super stringent diet called HCG where she gives herself injections and she’s love 70 lbs since August…it’s depressing as hell! She’s losing it and I’m finding it! Well…I’m going to get off my duff this morning and get moving! Sewing Bum!!! Hahahahaha! xo, Nan
Karon!!! your home is gaspingly beautiful. And that is from the back end I assume. We actually had 5 inches of snow here in central Texas and loved every 24 hours of it. As I look out the window (while sitting on my “computer bum”) there are patches of white amongst the mud and grass. Happy hibernation to you.
Pictures of snow are so lovely but being freezed and hibernated are not that fun
