We had our first major frost last week. So much better than the usual wind and rain that we suffer from here in Scotland. A crisp cold day is truly beautiful.
Frost crystals decorate everything in the garden. Frozen veg takes on a whole new meaning. The garden has come to the end of its annual cycle, now it sleeps.
I look at all the things there that I meant to get round to, the beds uncleared and still tabgled with unruly herbs, the pots to clear and move. As ever, time has overtaken me and I have not kept up to speed.Who cares, it has a 'lived in'look and a charm of its own.
I think these frozen onions actually make a better photo subject than salad addition. I'm quite happy to have them to look at rather than eat.
The weather forcast for today is for low temperatures and no rain. I'm hoping it is right as tonight is the Christmas Gala evening down at the village. Shops will stay open late, chestnuts will be roasted, choirs will sing etc. All things that are so much better when served dry.Fingers crossed..
