Last weekend during my enforced absence from the world of the blog I was lucky enough to have my lovely friend Tracey come to stay.
Tracey and I go way, w a a a y back. She used to live next door to me, we were those cute little kiddies, hard to remember that time, but hey ho there you go.
Anyway Tracey has been living abroad for over 20 years and has just moved back to the UK. This is just so exciting to have here back again.
It had to be done, a major pig out was call of the day. What could I make, had to be something a wee bit special, something summery, something yummy of course.
I went for my Posh Pork (see recipe in food section today) with baby potatoes cooked with herb butter and a simple green salad with herb dressing.
Pudding, well come on girls there has to be pudding – fresh fruit salad on a cake base with lavender and mint homemade icecream. now the recipe for that little delight will follow in the food area shortly.
I had so much fun doing the prep, taking the photos and just playing with food all afternoon before Tracey got here. Really my Blue Peter side was having a field day.
Anyway when the lady herself arrived it was like sunshine had poured into the house. How I’ve missed her.
There was much chat, much imbibing of my lemoncello martinis (yes, yes, you’ll get that recipe too) and then on to the rich red stuff.
So much to catch up on. A late night and early start as I was running with Phoebe in Glasgow. Tracey and Idgy came too and sat in the sun watching our efforts and making choice comments that will go unlisted here.
Coffee in town then she was off again, to visit her Mum this time. Fleeting and fabulous, every moment a joy. I’m going up north to visit her next weekend, can’t wait!
