Sometimes we are blessed by having a little dream come true. I feel I’m in this lucky position right now as tomorrow I will be jetting off to Ireland to take part in the From Plate To Page Food Photography and Styling Workshop just outside Dublin.
To say I have wanted to do something like this for a long time would be a bit of an understatement. I have longed for this. I have read about these courses on blogs and fairly drooled over the photographs and wished I could be there too learning from the best in the business and having a chance to really soak up the info and learn something that I know will really make a difference to me and what I do.
I have been keeping an eye on the From Plate To Page site for the past year, always checking on future dates and courses just in case something came up that I’d be able to attend. Well a few months ago something did. There was a listing for a weekend course in Ireland with one of my blogging heroes Meeta K Wolff, top photographer Ilva Beretta, freelance writer Jeanne Horak-Druiff and top foodie bloggerJamie Schler.
There would be only 12 places on the course. I sent in my application and waited with baited breath to find out if I had a place.
So early tomorrow morning I shall be flying to Dublin and meeting up with the tutors and eleven other students from USA, Ireland, Panama, Slovenia, Portugal, South Africa, England and Singapore for a hectic weekend of full on photography, writing, food and fun.
I can’t wait!
I don’t think I have been this excited in years. I feel all bouncy and Tiggerish. I think I could almost get there without the aid of a plane!
All of these fabulous photos have been taken from Meeta’s blog at What’s For Lunch Honey. You can read all about the course in Ireland at the From Plate To Page web site. And if you trot on over to my Facebook Page (you might even get to Like it there) you will see a fantastic video that was shot at a recent workshop in Germany.
Have a wonderful weekend whatever you are doing.
I shall sign off here and go get my camera packed.
