New Year in France and just look, new life just as if it were Spring. These little guys were kind of cold tho' as it wasn't exactly tropical in the South West of France.
It was a case of 'Cold hands and warm hearts' out there. We drank wine, ate lovely food, talked the world to rights, visited bordeaux (these pix are city snaps)
Beautiful buildings clearly etched against the clouded sky. People dashing everywhere muffled up in scarves and hats against the cold.
This lady must have been seriously chilly!
And chocolate shops of course. What would France be without those shops of delight. Aah think of those calories, then forget them completely as you wade in and just 'enjoy'.
Christmas was almost a memory, decorations coming down and new hope and resolutions replacing the glitz and sparkle.
Some days of sunshine but a chill to remind you that this is winter wherever you are.
I find the most amazing Larger Than Life Ferret puppet to take home for idgy. No room in the 'Never Full' – must tell LV that 'yes you can fill them', so he travels on top causing much amusement at all airports. Looks of horror that I should be bringing livestock on the plane so openly. Cannot resist the temptation to have LTLF curled up on seat next to me on flights, ho hum, as ever I am easily amused.
A push-me-pull-you situation re flights when I am leaving. Watching airports closing by the minute on the flight board. Will Stansted stay open. It does but the bounce and slide on the runway leaves us all with heart in mouth and a heartfelt cheer when we stop.
Welcome back to Narnia.
Scotland even colder and whiter. The joys of frozen pipes await me. Thrilled to see Idgy again and she is even more thrilled by LTLF who gets a bigger hug than I do.
New Year, New Decade. Went into the New Year as 'Woman with iphone', this attempt at being up to the minute and a bit of a techi lasts less than a week, iphone now returned to shop and I am now back to being 'Woman with boring old Samsung'. Nothing changes, I am still that technophobe.
So it is Monday morning, back to business. No running due to snow but I have bought a keep fit DVD to leap about in the kitchen instead while we endure this Narnia-like lifestyle.
What is the weather like with you?
By the way, Happy New Year, let's hope it is a good one for all of us.
