The weekend of lovely weather had me itching to get out there, and, wait for it – run. Yes I miss the running and it just looked all so lovely. So on Saturday afternoon I hauled out all the running gear and donned the Lycra. I grabbed my camera and thought I would just go round the lane and not push to do the whole 6k at a run but just take it easy as I haven’t run for 10 days.
Well I set off and was loving it. I haven’t run round the lanes for months as I’ve been running in town with Attila. I haven’t run with a camera in all that time and I was just in my ellement snapping pix of everyday things. The cows with little cute calves were gorgeous. Just look at this pair, isn’t that little cream calf so adorable?
I ran two thirds of the way round just stopping very briefly to snap pix as I went. Then I thought I’d just walk for a bit. I started doing some arm exercises and even skipping. Thank God we are in the middle of nowhere as me skipping is not a pretty sight, and as for the imaginary boxing arm stuff. Well I could probably get locked up if spotted. My idea is that any exercise is good, so why push myself at a run the whole way, why not intersperse with something a tad different.
I also did a bit of butterfly chasing. The butterfly won, see above.
As luck would have it my neighbours were out and about on their deck and invited me for a vino. Could I refuse? Well of course not, how rude would that be.
So here I am at the end of my run. Trainers on and glass in hand.
Really is the best way to deal with this whole running business.
