What, a basket of lavender, where are the tv shots, where is the Big Day. Well I was too shy to ask if I could take any photos, I was too busy being organised and having a great time.
However if my inept computer skills can be trusted you should be able to click on the basket of lavender and that will take you to the STv web site for The Hour, here is another link here www.stv.tv/thehour . When you get to their home page you just click on the show tape for the day (7th Sept) and I am on part 3 of the programme. You'll recognise me no problem at all.
Everyone at the studios was so nice and charming. They really put you at your ease and make the whole thing a breaze. Wow things move fast tho, one minute you are unloading a car full of herbs and props and half made bits and pieces, next thing you are having a 'run through', getting photographed, whipped off to make up, and then wham you are live on TV and the whole thing is happening there and then.
Michelle and Grant (show hosts) have a real raport and there is a lot of laughter on the set. Poor Michelle is still hurting from her 10k run for charity on Sunday, she definately needs some herbs and epsom salts to soak in and ease those tired muscles.
There were only a few moments to spend in the lounge before I went on. I chattted to a great guy who does mind reading and we passed the time with him telling me what house number I was brought up in. Amazing stuff, he then went into the studio and did spoon bending etc.
Thankfully I didn't do a Brigitte Jones and fall over anything, didn't drop the props or lose the plot. All the things I'd dreamed in the night before, when I tossed and turned and worried and stressed.
All in all it just didn't seem real. Well out of my comfort zone but clutching my herbs and book that anchor me to my reality. A dash into town and into a different world. Then home to my manic daughter jumping up and down waving her phone, "I've taped you Mum, you're on my phone, now everyone will know you're real" – my first view of my TV self is on a 2 inch screen, where I thankfully make a tiny impact and don't look half as bad as I thought I would. But goodness, I do sound very Scottish.
Back to normal today, must get a cup of coffee first tho'
