The Tin Man is alive and well and clanking about in Kilmarnock. betcha didn't know that!
A couple of garage mechanics built him and he stands guard over their workshop in a side street. Slim of build and ever so slightly beady of eye, he clutches a tool/piece of exhaust in one hand and a racing flag in the other.
From the side he just looks like some piping, nothing worth noticing at all. It is only when you you walk past the garage and see him facing you that you realise just what he is, who he is, and actually how much effort went into creating him.
We walk past so many things, both literally and metaphorically. We are wrapped up in our tissue of issues and rarely notice what is standing right there in front of us.
I'd walked past the Tin Man so many times and never even noticed him. He'd been there all along, just something you don't expect to see, so you don't actually notice it.
What else have I been walking past ?
What have you seen that is unexpectedly there in amid your everyday sights? Have you been walking past a strange object for years but never really noticed it. Doesn't really need to be strange, just out of place, odd, quirky.
