Oh no, more bloody snow pix!
Yes it is another day of snow photos, but this time i'm trying to be a tad creative with them. If you look at the near bottom left side of this photo you'll see an old bicycle leaning up against the fence of HQ.
This old bicycle dates back to WW2 (and no dear reader, I don't!) which is why it is painted a sort of sludgy army green colour.
It would have been used in and around the Glasgow area, it would have been important in it's day.
Mr X found it many years ago when there was a clear out of their work place. The old bike was destined for the skip. He knew I had been looking for a bike to plant flowers around as a feature for HQ (this was when we were married).
I adapted an old basket for the back, perfect for a couple of plant pots.
In summer it is a riot of colour, with nasturtiums winding all over from the basket, mint popping up like fairy woodland, tangling round the wheels. it does exactly what I had hoped for all those years ago.
In winter it becomes a measuring stick for deapth and condition of snow. How bad does the bike look? Is it work hiking over to HQ this morning?
Today it is almost a snow sculpture in it's own right, guess I won't be trotting over to HQ in a hurry…..
PS Thanks for all your lovely comments and emails about my snowy situation. I didn't get in to Glasgow to the studios yesterday, going to have a go at getting there tomorrow instead. By the way, just checked the temperature here, minus 14. What fun!
