There was mucho socialising last weekend. May not have had a phone line but what the hell the sun was shining and it was party time instead!
It was the lovely Sandy’s birthday and we were all gathered in the garden for a bit of a do.
Sheila is the most amazing cook and really does Spanish food to perfection. She’d prepared the most amazing Paella and Catalan meatballs in spicy sauce. There were salads, cold meats, melon, BBQ goodies and chiunks of crusty bread to mop up all those sauces.
While the table groans with gorgeous goodies for us, the ever hopeful Maddy is ready and waiting underneith for any errors in the old hand to mouth routine.
There are cakes galore, but the star has to be little Kiera’s special cake for her grand dad. Horrors, no candles, just have to stick a big one beside it and blow that out instead. Improvisation is the name of the game!
The afternoon unfolds in chat and relaxing in the sun. The kids splash about in the stream and even catch a fish. Hugely proud moment for Idgy who is a big fan of Robson Green’s ‘Extreme Fishing’ programme on TV (yes I know a tad odd, but that’s my girl!). There is a fish in that water, looks like something nasty I know but honestly a H U G E shark like creature is lurking in that bottle.
Even Maddy gives up the food hunt and just snoozes in the sun.
Thanks Sheila and Sandy for a lovely day.
