It has been the most beautiful day here today. Warm sunshine all day and calm and still. Here are the neighbours enjoying the sunshine while l spent the day weeding and cutting herbs. I was meant to be stuffing carrots all day, but with weathr like this l had to get out there and work on the herbs etc. I have promised myself that l will stuff 20 carrots every day this week…………
Yesterday the weather was hellish to put it bluntly. You could not get two such differing weather scenarios. It just poured down all day. The perfect day for doing a fair. Having said that, there were very few people and most came up to ask if we would be back next month as that's when they want to by their Christmas things. Ho hum, another bad day at the office. Anyway a few bags of my Cozy Cones pot pourri found new homes. Here is a photo so you can almost smell Christmas in the air.
With reference to Janes' posting re the similar make up bags (think yours is much nicer Jane) and worry of people copying designs. This is always something that niggles crafters and any other types of artists l guess. It is so disheartening to see something you have worked on for ages and sold well, only to find someone else has brought out the same thing right down to its tail or whatever. I have recently seen an 'artist' selling items that are exact replicas (even the fabric is the same) of another artists works. The original artist has been selling her items for years and has beautiful photographs on her web site. Is this the price we pay for making nice things and doing pretty photos, the minute they are 'out there' they fall prey to the copycat 'artist' who doesn't see anything wrong in using another persons work. Copyright laws are often a bit of a minefield, but l always cover all my designs by copyright and state this on my web site.
Enough moaning. I ended the day with a bit of a treat, my friend Carolyn asked if l would like to ride out with her this evening, so here is Spider who is simply huge (17.2hh) but a gentle giant.
And this is the view of Dream Acres from Spiders' back. You can just see the house on the left hand side of the photo about half way down. The weather was gorgeous with the sun just going down and glittering on the sea in the distance. Unfortunately you can't really make any of this out in the photo, but l thought l would let you see it anyway.
Whatever the weather is like tomorrow l shall be stuffing carrots!
