On a flick through my Filofax the other day – yes let’s get this out of the way right away; yes indeedy I am the woman who still has a Filofax. I like it, no, I love it. I am anchored to the good old pen and paper method of organising your life. I like making notes and plans and then seeing them come up on pages a few weeks or months hence. I like to look at it and read things back, remember good days, I like the feel of the old worn leather cover and the bright red colour of it. I like that it has been with me like an old pal for years and years. Making notes in a mobile phone or on a computer just can’t compare with a heartfelt note or a gloriously misspelled scribble on good old fashioned paper!
There, I have ridden my Filofax hobby horse with great style and aplomb and can now get back to the story…..
Story? Well there wasn’t really a story, just wanted to say that while perusing my Filofax (see love story/explanation above) I noted that next Tuesday (20th March) is officially the first day of Spring. How great is that!!
Doesn’t that feel good just thinking about it? Spring. Winter away and warmth and sunshine just sneaking up on us a wee bit at a time.
There are hardly any snowdrops left, a few stalwart clumps here and there, hangin’ in determined to show that the word ‘snow’ really is a reality this year and not a word captured from the realms of fiction.
Actually I blame myself for the lack of snow up here on Walton’s Mountain this winter. I bought snow chains for Tigger, and working on the old BBQ in summer analogy – ie whenever you haul out the BBQ kit and buy some new stuff you are guaranteed rain – it just didn’t snow (well not enough to merit the snow chains). Idgy has never forgiven me.
Goodness, digressing again, anyway Spring. Next week officially. Must rush out and photograph the daffs!
