Isn't this pretty. It is one of the pieces of fabric that I picked up at a Brocante last year. Yet another addition to my fabric stash.
I don't know about you, but as a crafter my fabric stash is something of a 'work in progress', it is constantly growing but with little or no direction and no great hope of getting anywhere.
Well times is a changing! I have raided HQ and commandeered all my pretty fabrics that I had automatically bought for making hearts etc to sell. No more, they are mine and I shall use them as I please. They have been neatly stacked up for so long awaiting projects, now I am looking at them with new eyes. My eyes, for me.
I am seeing a wrap around skirt with this gorgeous piece pictured above. Small pieces are going to cover coathangers, there is going to be a tablecloth, oh lots of lovely goodies.
What has made me attack my fabric stash and use it for myself and not what it was planned for? My own fabric has. Now that my fabric is arriving and I am getting my prototypes done for the new line, I don't have to keep my fabric stash in readiness for use on work projects.
I know this sounds just silly, but there is something so liberating about this. I have always kept these fabrics untouched with that 'it will be turned from fabric to cash' therefore I couldn't use it for 'me' projects. Well at last I have my own fabric so I can use my lovely stash for bits and pieces for myself.
I've been having a bit of fun over the weekend with piles of books, mugs of coffee, my chilli chocolate (just a little!) and a few glasses of wine, pouring over ideas for things I could be adding to the house and myself. I am making a list.
Now whilst going through my books (and lets remember I do have lots of them) I have decided to whittle them down a bit and part with some of them. I will put together a list of crafting, gardening, cooking, household all that kind of thing with low prices and a bit of postage. Will let you know when I get this together and maybe either put it up here or let you know and you can email for a copy. There are lots of mags too. Any ideas, should I just list everything here for you?
Tell me what you think.
Have a good start to the week and the month.
