Images of Autumn

This morning I woke up to a white, sparkly frost filled landscape. Gone were the glorious golds of Autumn. Gone were the leaves – they are all at my front door in a determined- to- get- into- the- house sort of pile.

So I thought I would  just dust off this Autumn's photos and put up here for you to have another quick blast of gorgeous colour before the monochrome of winter sets in all around.

That season of mellow fruitfulness.

Everything is dipped in gold.

One leaf can become a masterpiece. A little work of art in it's own right. Mother nature making her mark on miniature canvases for us to enjoy.

Days out picking sloes, squelching in wet and wonderful fields.

Of course the fairy houses are there to be found at this special time of year. Popping up for just a few days for us mere mortals to enjoy.

The mixtures of leaves, the medly of colours. Like a pocketful of change scattered on the table.

Autumn has been in true glory this year, a beauty in abundance.

Now skies are fading and leaves are all but gone. A nip in the air that takes the breath and pinches cheeks. Today a crisp crackling of frost on the path, soon snow. Oh I do hope snow, I love snow.

Meanwhile shiver and light the fire.

Keep warm, keep safe,  keep happy on this chilly Monday morn.

We’ve already got snow everywhere and frost glittering on the trees. I went for a walk in the forest yesterday and admired all the small paw prints on the snow. Perhaps they were made by snow fairies, at least I’d love to think so…

There is a chance we might get some lake effect snow at the end of the week. Last week it was in the upper 60’s and reached 70 one day. This week snow. Weather changes on a dime like this here in Northwest Indiana. Good old Lake Michigan wins out everytime. Your pictures are lovely.
