I should be building an ark here, not sewing notebooks. We have had non stop heavy rain for 3 days now. The fields are flooded and my garden looks horribly like the Somme. So much for the new baby plants l put in on the patio paving to replace old ones. These new guys have been sighted merrily bobbing past the window on a tide of rain.
Anyway, the notebooks are nice and jolly and l'm especially pleased with the little herb filled heart bookmark attached by vintage button. The only drawback is that they have to be packaged in cellophane to a.keep them clean, and b. stop the heart getting tangled up with the others. No problem l have cellophane bags for the old notebooks. They don't fit. Aha, l remember that way up in the loft l have a roll of cellophane. I brave spiders and old toys and bad-hair-Barbies to drag out the cellophane. The roll is huge, the notebooks are not. Roll on floor, knee on roll, scissors in hand, proceed to snip. Scissors blunt so going in all wrong directions and cellophane now a mess. Piece of cellophane l have cut out gets smaller by the minute as l try to cut a nice square shape. Scissors keep up their non-cooperating activities by going off at wierd angles and my square loses its edge.
I end up with a piece of cellophane that could probably grace the average fag packet but nothing much bigger. Notebook still sitting prettily beside said roll of cellophane. It has won the round. A rethink on the packaging front………………………..
I think l will move on to ark building for a break.
