Remember me moaning (who, me!) the other day about how we had no snow and I hated the wind and rain. Well that morning it was frosty, not mushy and windy and all wet and horrid. It was still and crisp and new and frosty – lovely.
Everything was etched, dusted in delight, fabulously frosted like Victorian Christmas baubles waiting for the appreciation of all who glimpse them.
Even Spring was showing her beautiful face in the midst of the January chill. Delicate primroses showing a strength that belies those dainty pale petals. A defined beauty in the battered and torn adornments of nature.
Time stands still in this frozen landscape. It soothes my soul and slows my pace as I tread with care around the everyday beauty that surrounds me.
New life. New shoots of energy and hope springing and thrusting through the earth as hard as iron. Proof positive that even the new, the young, the unsure, the unfit and nervous can hold fast and push through what seems like impossibility and burst forth into the gorgeous light of day to shine and do their thing.
Funny how it’s those little things in life that make you think the most…..
